What to highlight in your resume
Name the processes you supported and the tools you used. Examples include calendar management, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, document systems, CRM or ERP software. Prioritise tasks that match the vacancy and describe the scale when useful, such as supporting several managers, coordinating recurring meetings or maintaining a shared mailbox.
Skills worth including
- Calendar and meeting coordination
- Document and data management
- Email and correspondence handling
- Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Keep only skills you can explain with a real example from work, training or a project.
Professional summary example
Administrative assistant with experience supporting daily office operations, calendars, shared mailboxes and document workflows. Organised, comfortable working with spreadsheets and able to coordinate requests across several teams.
Use this as a structure, not as text to copy unchanged. Replace the role, experience, tools and goal with your own information.
Quick start
Start with a Administrative Assistant base
We will add role-specific skill suggestions and keep any CV data you already entered. Nothing is invented about your employers, dates or experience.
You review every suggestion before sending the resume.
Experience bullet examples
- Managed calendars, meeting invitations and room bookings for a small operations team.
- Maintained digital records and updated spreadsheets used for recurring operational reporting.
- Monitored a shared inbox, routed requests to the correct person and followed up on open actions.
If this is your first job
School, volunteer and project work can be relevant when it involved schedules, documents, spreadsheets, event organisation or communication. Label it accurately as a project, placement or volunteer role instead of presenting it as paid office employment.
What to avoid
Do not fill the skills section with every office program you have heard of. List software you can actually use and be ready to explain what you did with it.
Check your resume before sending it
- Match the vacancy. Put the most relevant real experience near the top.
- Check dates and contact details. Make sure the employer can reach you and your timeline is consistent.
- Keep claims defensible. Remove numbers, skills or responsibilities you could not explain in an interview.
- Check the PDF text. Copy text from the exported PDF into a plain editor to confirm it remains readable.
- Read it on mobile. Look for broken lines, awkward page breaks and sections that are hard to scan.
Turn it into your own resume
Start with your real experience, then tailor the wording to the job you want. You can build and export the resume in English directly in the CV builder.
